Where We Ship

Canada — online checkout. You can order any paddle directly through our shop. Shipping within Canada is included in the price shown, so the price on the product page is the price you pay. All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD).

United States — yes, with one extra step. We ship to the US regularly. The only difference is that US orders are quoted by hand instead of going straight through online checkout. Since the United States ended its duty-free exemption for low-value parcels, every package entering the country needs a customs declaration and prepaid import duties before it can ship. We take care of that for you, but the cost depends on where the paddle is going — so we can't print an accurate US total on the page in advance.

To order from the US, use the “Shipping to the US? Get a quote” button on any paddle in the shop, or please email us directly or use our contact form with the paddle you want and your delivery address. We'll send back a single written total covering the paddle, shipping, and import duties — usually within 24 hours. Nothing is charged until you accept that quote.

Shipping outside of Canada and the US may still be possible — get in touch and we'll see what we can do.

Processing Time

Orders are typically processed within 3–7 business days. Since every paddle is handcrafted, some items may require additional production time. We'll email you with tracking information as soon as your order ships.

Estimated Delivery

• Canada — 5–10 business days after shipment
• United States — 7–14 business days after shipment, plus customs clearance. Clearance times have become less predictable since the US customs rules changed, so treat US estimates as approximate.

Delivery times are estimates and may vary depending on your location and carrier conditions. We are not responsible for delays caused by the shipping carrier, weather, or customs processing.

Shipping Costs

Canada. Shipping is included in the listed price. The price shown on the product page is the total you pay — we do not add shipping, handling, or any other mandatory fee at or after checkout.

United States. Shipping and prepaid import duties are quoted per order and confirmed in writing before you pay anything.

Orders ship from Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD). If you pay with a non-Canadian card, your bank handles the currency conversion and may add its own foreign transaction fee — that fee is set by your bank, not by us, and we receive no part of it.

Customs, Duties & Import Tariffs

On August 29, 2025 the United States ended the duty-free “de minimis” exemption that previously let low-value parcels enter the country without duty. Every parcel entering the US is now dutiable regardless of its value, and Canada Post cannot issue a US shipping label at all without confirmation that duties have been prepaid.

What that means if you are ordering from the United States:

• We prepay US import duties before your parcel ships. You will not be asked for money by the carrier or by US Customs when your paddle is delivered.
• Those duties are included in the total we quote you. Because we pay them up front, they are part of the single figure you approve before paying.
• We never add a tariff or duty charge after you have paid. If our costs change between quoting and shipping, we absorb the difference or contact you to re-quote — your choice, and nothing is charged without your agreement.
• Duty rates change. They are set by US Customs and Border Protection and have moved several times recently. A quote reflects the rate in effect on the day it is issued; quotes older than 14 days may need to be reissued before we ship.

Canadian orders are not affected by any of the above. There are no customs charges on a domestic Canadian shipment.

Shipping Delays & Your Right to Cancel

If we cannot ship your order within the time we promised — or within 30 days of your order if we did not give you a shipping date — we will contact you with a revised date. You may either accept the new date or cancel the order for a full refund.

This applies even though our change-of-mind policy is otherwise all-sales-final, and it applies to delays caused by customs processing.

Returns & Refunds

Each paddle is a one-of-a-kind handcrafted piece, so all sales are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges for change of mind. This does not affect your rights above if an order is delayed, arrives damaged, or is not as described.

Damaged or Incorrect Items

If your paddle arrives damaged during shipping or is significantly not as described:

• Contact us within 7 days of delivery
• Include photos of the damage or issue
• Email islandhazecreations@gmail.com, ohpony22@gmail.com, marvellips@gmail.com or use our contact form

We'll work with you to resolve the issue, which may include a replacement or refund at our discretion.

e-Transfer Reservations

When you choose to pay by Interac e-Transfer (Canada only), the product is reserved for 48 hours. If payment is not received within that window, the reservation expires and the product is released back for sale. No charges are applied for expired reservations.

Age Requirement

All orders must be placed by individuals who are at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in their jurisdiction. By placing an order, you confirm you meet this requirement. We reserve the right to cancel any order if we have reason to believe the buyer does not meet the age requirement.
